- 세대와 국적을 넘어 하나되는 화합의 장 열려

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)가 순천시로부터 수탁 운영 중인 순천시가족센터는 지난 10월 25일(토) 순천만생태문화교육원 다목적홀에서 ‘2025 다문화한마음축제’를 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 전라남도순천교육지원청과 연계해 지역 내 거주하는 다문화가족 500여 명이 참여한 가운데, 세대와 국적을 초월한 소통과 화합의 장으로 펼쳐졌다.

축제는 ‘꿈을 키우는 K-컬쳐와 진로체험의 장’을 주제로 다문화가족이 K-컬쳐 체험부스와 진로체험 부스 등 체험 중심의 행사와 체육대회 행사로 구성됐다.

1부에서는 K-컬쳐 및 진로탐색 체험부스, 나라별 문화체험부스가 운영되어 참가자들이 각국의 전통의상과 놀이를 직접 체험하며 다양한 문화를 이해하고 교류하는 시간을 가졌다. 식전행사로는 각 나라의 국기와 팻말을 든 기수들이 전통의상을 착용하고 입장하는 퍼포먼스가 펼쳐져 관람객들의 큰 박수를 받았다.

이어진 2부에서는 ‘다문화가족 한마음 체육대회’가 열려, 가족 단위의 팀워크와 협동심을 높이는 다채로운 게임이 진행됐다. 참가자 전원에게 점심식사가 제공되었으며, 현장에는 K- 푸드트럭이 함께 운영되어 축제 분위기를 더했다.

이번 행사는 안전사고 없이 원활하게 진행되었으며, 참여자들은 “국적과 세대를 넘어 하나가 된 뜻깊은 시간이었다”, “아이들과 함께 다양한 문화를 체험할 수 있어 의미 있었다”는 등 높은 만족도를 보였다.

한편, 순천시가족센터 박애리 센터장은 “이번 축제를 통해 다문화가족과 지역주민이 서로의 문화를 존중하고 이해하는 계기가 되었다”며, “앞으로도 다문화가족이 지역사회 안에서 주체적으로 성장하고 참여할 수 있는 다양한 프로그램을 지속적으로 운영하겠다”고 전했다.

SCNU Successfully Hosts the 2025 Suncheon Family Center Multicultural Harmony Festival

- A celebration of unity transcending generations and nationalities

Sunchon National University (SCNU, President Lee Byung-Woon) announced that the Suncheon Family Center, which the university operates under commission from Suncheon City, successfully hosted the 2025 Multicultural Harmony Festival on Saturday, October 25, at the multipurpose hall of the Suncheon Bay Eco-Cultural Education Center.

The event, held in collaboration with the Jeollanam-do Suncheon Office of Education, brought together more than 500 multicultural family members residing in the region. The festival served as a vibrant platform for communication and harmony that transcended both generations and national boundaries.

Under the theme “Growing Dreams through K-Culture and Career Exploration,” the festival featured various experience-oriented programs, including K-culture and career experience booths and family-friendly sports activities.

In the first part of the event, participants enjoyed hands-on experiences at the K-culture and career exploration booths as well as cultural booths representing different countries. Attendees tried on traditional clothing, participated in traditional games, and exchanged cultural insights. A special pre-ceremony performance featured representatives carrying national flags and signs while wearing traditional attire, receiving enthusiastic applause from the audience.

The second part included a “Multicultural Family Unity Sports Festival”, where families joined in a series of fun and interactive games designed to promote teamwork and cooperation. All participants were provided with lunch, and K-food trucks on-site added to the festive atmosphere.

The festival concluded smoothly without any safety incidents, and participants expressed high satisfaction, sharing comments such as, “It was a meaningful time where we truly came together beyond nationality and generation,” and “It was wonderful to experience so many cultures with my children.”

Director Park Ae-Ri of the Suncheon Family Center stated, “This festival became a meaningful opportunity for multicultural families and local residents to respect and understand each other’s cultures. We will continue to provide diverse programs that empower multicultural families to actively participate and grow as integral members of the local community.”
