… 입사지원서 특강·모의면접 등 단계별 후속 프로그램 통해 지역사회와 동반 성장 도모

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 지난 9월 12일(금) 학내 글로벌카페에서 외국인 유학생 40여명을 대상으로 맞춤형 취·창업 컨설팅 프로그램을 진행했다. 이번 컨설팅 프로그램은 유학생들이 졸업 후 한국 사회에 안정적으로 진출할 수 있도록 진로 탐색과 비자 제도를 중심으로 구성되었으며, 현장에서 필요한 실질적 정보를 제공해 큰 호응을 얻었다.

프로그램은 ▲개인별 진로 탐색 및 상담 ▲유학생 취업에 필요한 비자 제도 안내 ▲취업 준비 시 유의사항 및 행정 절차 설명 등으로 진행됐다. 특히 참가자들은 전문 컨설턴트와 1:1 상담을 통해 개인의 상황에 적합한 진로 방향과 체류 자격 요건을 구체적으로 확인할 수 있었다.

미얀마 출신 경영학과 유학생은 “비자 제도나 취업 준비 과정에서 막연했던 부분들이 정리되어 큰 도움이 됐다”며 “앞으로 진로를 준비하는데 자신감이 생겼다”고 소감을 전했다.

서강석 국제교류교육본부장은 “외국인 유학생들이 단순히 학업을 마치는 데 그치지 않고, 안정적인 커리어를 설계할 수 있도록 지속적인 지원을 이어가고 있다”며, “앞으로도 다양한 진로·취업 연계 프로그램을 통해 유학생들이 지역사회와 함께 성장할 수 있도록 돕겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 국립순천대학교는 이번 컨설팅을 시작으로 ▲입사지원서 및 자기소개서 작성 특강(9월) ▲모의 면접 및 직무 역량 강화 프로그램(10월) ▲지역 우수기업 탐방 및 현장 실습(11월) ▲유학생 가족 정주지원(11월) 등 다양한 프로그램을 단계적으로 운영할 예정이다. 학교는 이를 통해 유학생들이 학업을 넘어 실질적인 커리어를 설계하고, 지역사회와 함께 성장할 기회를 얻을 수 있도록 지원을 이어갈 방침이다.

SCNU Global Education Center Provides Customized Career and Start-up Consulting for International Students

Sunchon National University (SCNU, President Lee Byung-woon) announced that on September 12 it held a customized career and start-up consulting program for more than 40 international students at the university’s Global Caf?. Designed to help international students successfully enter Korean society after graduation, the program focused on career exploration and visa requirements, providing practical on-site information that was well received.

The consulting sessions included individualized career exploration and counseling, guidance on visa systems essential for employment, and explanations of key administrative procedures when preparing for employment. In particular, participants received personalized advice through one-on-one consultations with professional career consultants, allowing them to clarify suitable career paths and specific visa requirements.

A business administration student from Myanmar shared, “This program clarified many uncertainties I had about visa processes and job preparation. It gave me new confidence in planning my future career.”

Seo Kang-seok, Director of the Global Education Center, stated, “We are committed to helping international students design stable careers rather than simply complete their studies in Korea. We will continue to provide diverse career and employment-linked programs so that students can grow together with the local community.”

Building on this initial consulting session, SCNU plans to roll out a series of follow-up programs: a resume and self-introduction workshop (September), mock interviews and job competency enhancement training (October), field visits to leading regional companies (November), and family settlement support for international students (November). Through these step-by-step initiatives, the university aims to help international students go beyond academic success to design practical careers and create opportunities for mutual growth with the local community.
